HP Innovation Incubator Program was a collaborative event between HP (industrial part) and IIT-BHU (academic part). The seed funds were given by HP to the winners of this event. The HP Incubator was categorized into two programs viz. technical and social. The problem statements such as 3D printing, Augmented Reality, healthcare etc, were given by HP Inc. to IIT-BHU students where students were supposed to create solutions for proposed problem statements using their technical know-how. In the social program, the topics were inclined to find solutions for issues creating problems in transforming Kashi into a Smart city. The projects were also in alignment with the 17 United Nations Sustainability Development Goals. Faculty mentors from the university and mentors from CL Educate helped students to work on new and innovative technologies and to transform their work into intellectual property.
The program was divided into 3 phases and 6 stages. The first phase consisted of the orientation of leadership and all program stakeholders at IIT-BHU campus followed by the identification of students. The next phase consisted of implementation of the Corporate Research Experience (CRE) program followed by topic identification; literature review and abstract writing on proposed the solution through continued mentoring sessions.
