The Healthcare Hackathon was initiated by DPSRU Innovation & Incubation Foundation (DIIF) which was supported by the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) and Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI) and powered by World Academia Industry Network (WAIN). It was started on 23rd March 2018 at DPSRU, New Delhi. Seminars and talks were given by the experts from different healthcare fields and students were briefed about the event.
A time period of 36 hours i.e. till 25th March 2018, was given to the students for the proposal submission. More than 250 young innovators enrolled to participate in the event. The proposals along with required documents were submitted in a standardized format prepared by DIFF in an online portal. Categorization and a basic level screening were done by CL's research mentors. The final screening was done by Experts' panel and 17 projects were shortlisted for the pitching session. Winners and participants were rewarded with seed funds and gifts respectively.
