The Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) is a public sector Navratna company that finances and promotes rural electrification projects across India.
Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) through its REC Foundation launched "The REC Innovation Platform" on the 29th of January 2018. The REC Innovation Platform extends support and mentoring to students from 30 government institutions across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
REC Foundation has appointed T-HUB as the central agency for this project and T-HUB has engaged Kestone Integrated Marketing Services, a 100% subsidiary of CL Educate Ltd. to execute this project.
About 1,800 students from select government institutions have gone through the rigorous Conceptual Research Experience Program. These students are being mentored on the finer points of research and innovation in the field of renewable energy. Researchers have been assigned to mentor teams of students towards building innovations in renewable energy ranging from solar energy and wind energy to geothermal energy and alternative biofuels and more.
The platform will help the 1800 young college innovators to produce 600 projects focused on renewable energy. Out of these, 30 projects will be selected for advanced mentoring and for the final showcase.
This program is leading to the development of research and innovation culture in the institutes which has led to the growth of critical thinking and analytical skills among students.
